Question by : what does an internet fraud investigation by a bank include?
what things do the bank do to try to catch the person who stole my cc #? Thanks

They can see where the item was shipped.
The IP address the item was ordered from
If in a store, they could get video
If they drove away and the store had video on the lot, they can get the car’s plate number and look up the owner of the car
If it was an online purchase they find out from the e-tailer where the package was shipped then inform the police in that city if they decide to investigate. A friend’s card number was stolen, someone charged $3000 worth of electronics to it, and they arrested the guy whose home the items were sent to
If the card was used in a store they can see if the store has CCTV cameras – but unfortunately unless the person is a recognized criminal this is pretty useless.
