Oh these fuckers. They’ve called from several different numbers and sometimes have called via blocked numbers. I just tell them where to shove it and hang up.
thx boss i just got the phone call from 510 943- 3040 and its a complete scam..I repeat DO NOT PICK UP ! Disconnect ur modem and call authorities cuz u might get ur identity stolen if they hack onto ur computer ! think important bank emails, work, personal, cards….BEWARE OF THIS SCAM
I just got a call from 661-380-3000, I never answer any out of code calls that I get, I always go on line to look the number up and it has almost always been reported as some marketing number that others have complained about.

Thank you radionuts for taking the time and your consideration in posting this. Within the last 2 days these folks have been blowing up my phone. I never answer unwanted calls anyway so this call goes straight to my voicemail. You know people will always turn the positive into something negative. Thanks again and ignore the other BUNG-HOLES on here.

These numbers are used by the internet phone services such as skype. The very same numbers posted here come up when my children use SKYPE to call me.
It could be a “real” urgent call from someone you know. Besides, when someone calls you, you are in control, they can’t magically gain access to your computer just because you answer the phone. Use your head, just don’t cooperate and hang up if you do not know them. Answer your phone, it’s still safe!

This is for real, I just receive a phone call from this number claiming that I have an XP computer generating lots of errorrs and they willl help me fixing it.
Fortunatly, I did not cooperate with them and decided to search this number and found this posting.

I answered not realizing what it was. He asked my age and I lied and said I was under 18. Which I am not. He said he would call back another time so he could talk to someone who could do what was necessary on the computer.

661-380-3000 is a Skype number. It could be anyone calling using Skype including a friend or family member. I had misplaced my cell phone so I used Skype to dial it. When I found it, this is the number that appeared on the caller id.
The scammers are probably also using Skype so that their number cannot be traced. Perhaps if you contacted Skype with the exact time of day, number that appeared on your caller ID and call duration they would be able to track down the abuser’s account.

I’m not pretending I know much about phone routing, but I had a call from 661-380-3000 which I ignored. Voicemail came up afterwards and it was my family calling via skype. So it IS possible that it’s not always just scammers.
Called me recently stating that I filled out a loan application for a car.
I knew that was bogus so I hung up!
they called using this 510 area code number.
I’ve had them call me a number of times, first time was a woman and then today a guy, similar voice to the one in this video, I asked them lots of questions, told them I’m writing down everything they tell me BEFORE I will try anything on the pc, I’ll ask my local geek friends first. He told me he was calling from California, had my name, actually told me to SHUT UP before his hanging up, then called me back a moment later to try me, I told him you’re totally unprofessional and laughed, hung up

I just got this call in Canada. Guy said he was from “MS Windows” and they were getting a lot of “error messages” from my computer. I said, “I doubt that.” He said, “Yes, we are. I can help you re-set your computer and that will fix it. If you don’t do it, within one hour, your computer’s hard drive will be completely destroyed.” I said, “Have a nice day.” and hung up.
They want to get control of your computer and use it as a SPAM MACHINE.
I just got a call like this from 1-661-380-3000, however I told them they got the wrong guy and they tried calling twice more before apparently giving up.

they also call me from this number V05210340520001 and M05210350250001 a comple days ago and I hang off and they try to call me again this time with 510 943 3040. I told them to not calling back. But is there any way to stop them to call, because we have kids at home and a kid is more easiyer to convince then us… but mine had an indian accent that wasn’t the same guy

@westtell4-lifelock just monitors the three major credit report companies for changes in ur credit rating-thats their big sell, and U can do the same thing at home. U can also ask those companies to notify U immediately if Ur rating changes, and also ask ur bank(s)/credit card companies to refuse use or notify u if ur card is used out of town (or if there are unusual/large purchases being made in town.) and refuse to allow the transaction unless U say ok. Ppl w/ lifelock have been hacked too.
