Sirius Satellite Radio Commits Serious Credit Card Fraud
Sirius Satellite Radio called to offer me a special rate to reactivate my closed account. I coincidentally had my digital camera set up on a tripod and was able to get the conversation on video. The guy on the other end was a little surprised to find out that I had been one of Sirius’ many credit card fraud victims. As explained in the video, I had canceled my Sirius service because of terrible sound quality and their attempt to get me to upgrade to CD quality sound for nearly double the price. Regular FM radio is free and sounds better than Sirius. I see no reason to have to upgrade. The lesson here is to always read your credit card/ATM statements. Most people don’t and companies know that. If you cancel a service or recurring payment document everything. Video record your phone conversations when you cancel. If you cancel online, take screen captures of each step of the process. I recommend FireShot for screen captures.

@bbb63 i got one of the older units and when i hook it up in my house i can drive a block away before it gets cut off from my car radio so yeah they were very powerful. but i notice some of the newer units that are not as powerful do have a some static even on dead stations. thats why ill be keeping my old unit even over the newer nicer ones.
9 months and he finally call about it now? iv never ever had any trouble with my account or reception and iv had it almost 5 years now.
I contacted them by phone FIVE days before acct expiration to notify that
I do NOT want automatic billing. Five days later they attempted to bill my bank acct
but the debt card was expired. Then they sent me and invoice both email and postal
stating and OUTSTANDING bal of $180.00. For 3 days I cant get anyone on the phone…and when i do, they tell me its their POLICY. They suck.
I only use the gift card method! I would not want them to have access to any of my credit/debit cards which I rarely use. Stern fan here:)
Also I understand you not ever wanting to do business with them again. I would be pissed too after 6 months of fraudulent charges. When I signed up for Sirius I used a prepay card and never gave them any account information.
I love how the guy all of the sudden wanted to get off the phone with you. One question is were you using the FM transmitter on the radio? The FM transmitter sucks especially since the FCC caught them using too strong transmitter (oops). I use the FM direct that plugs right into your car antenna. It prevents just about all interference from FM radio stations. Of course that would be more money that you probably would not want to spend. Please don’t take this as being a fanboy, I am not.
Absolute Corporations Corrupt Absolutely!
CD quality? Thats only used for onine listening.
You have probably been hearing about satellite radio for a while and of course, lately there has been plenty of news about Howard Stwern setting up shop on Sirius and bringing his fan base along with him. So now you have decided that it’s time to get on the bandwagon with this new technology and experience satellite radio for yourself.
